I had the privilege of contributing to the strategic planning behind this campaign — and it was one of the most enriching experiences of my political advisory career.

Understanding the Constituency

Dumri is a constituency in Giridih district of Jharkhand with a diverse voter base. The first step was a thorough constituency analysis — understanding the demographic composition, key voter concerns, booth-level data, and historical voting patterns. No successful campaign begins without this foundation.

Grassroots Outreach Strategy

We built a strong booth-level committee in every village and ward. Each booth had a dedicated coordinator responsible for voter connect, issue documentation and feedback. This ground network became the backbone of the campaign.

Door-to-door outreach was prioritised over large rallies. Personal connect with voters builds trust that no amount of advertising can replicate. Teams were trained to listen to voters first and communicate the leader's vision second.

What made the campaign truly powerful was Jairam Mahto's own deep connect with the people of Dumri. His grassroots identity, his voice for local issues and his reputation as a youth leader resonated strongly with voters across age groups. My role was to channel that energy into a structured, winning campaign.

Communication and Messaging

Clear, consistent messaging was key. The campaign focused on local development, employment for youth, farmers' rights and Adivasi identity — issues that were closest to the hearts of Dumri voters. Every rally, poster and social media post carried the same unified message.

Digital Campaign Management

A targeted digital strategy on WhatsApp and social media helped amplify the campaign reach to younger voters. Short video messages, voice notes from Jairam Mahto and daily updates kept the momentum alive right until polling day.

Result

The hard work of thousands of volunteers, the trust of the people of Dumri and the strategic planning behind the scenes came together to deliver a historic victory. This experience reinforced my belief that good strategy, combined with a genuine leader, is an unstoppable force in democratic politics.
